Research Interests
My research is heavily geared towards the social justice and empowerment of students of African descent on college campuses. As such, implications from my research projects aim to address psychosocial, environmental and political structures within academic institutions and the greater community which may be problematic for this student population.

Hello! My name is Emma Knudson, and I am a senior at UWEC! I am pursuing a major in psychology, a minor in family studies, and a certificate in world religion. I am originally from La Crosse, Wisconsin, but moved to Eau Claire in the fall of 2018 for college. My research interests include studying how the education system has impacted marginalized groups. I am planning on going to graduate school to obtain a master’s degree in education policy and leadership. My future career goal(s) is to work towards creating a stronger education system that allows all children access to the same resources and chances at gaining entrance into college.
