Marginalized Identity Status and Trauma (M.I.S.T.) Lab

Hello! We're the M.I.S.T Lab at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and we welcome you to our lab website. 

 

​The primary focus of the M.I.S.T Research Lab is the well-being of marginalized student populations. We examine various factors that impact academic achievement and mental health outcomes of this student population in an effort to articulate their experience within a campus environment. Our research is heavily geared towards the social justice and empowerment of marginalized students on college campuses.

As such, implications from our research projects aim to address psychosocial, environmental and political structures within academic institutions and the greater community which may be problematic for this student population. We hope to provide evidence to support intervention and prevention efforts within college campuses, along with the creation of policies to provide a safe and accepting environment for all students.
